the pokemon? j/k

I like the fusion of ambient and DnB styles here.

The pads are pretty swell, I think the riff could change throughout so its not as repetitive...(i know it doesnt sound good when you make a more complex melody with pads like this, tho I think you could use a little more pitch, or atleast splice the rhythm up some)/ its still pretty chill tho. Love the opening bassline and its kinda off vintage sound. The drums are pretty sweet too, maybe a tad bit muffled. You could raise some bass levels...tho this doesnt necessarily need to be loud since it's an ambient feeling DnB. Love the synth around 3:30 and those background FX. You could try experimenting by putting levels of reverb on the pads and synths are certain points in the track...phased drums work excellent in DnB too.

Well executed!

thnx you 4 ur review, i´m very glad about your comment because thy´re helping me
thnx man!! I have an older version of this track, it contents more experimential soundz and more pad melodies, but the simple version soundz better than the old version. this was my reason to upload new version. yes you´re right the synth around 3:30 is may favorite synth too :)
i want to work on a older version and put more reverb sound an i look :)

Nice EQing experiments with sweet pads

This a pretty damn good trance. The swelling pads in the intro sound really nice, (and the crescendo drums sound good in here as well). The chords in the pads are danceable and have a calming yet slightly serious touch. The drum beats start off well.

Love the beat that you open with, matches the pads quite adequately. Then it opens into a nice happy sequence. I think this part could have gone on longer before you reach a little small interlude. That would make it more epic.

There seems to be some noticeable white/phase noise with the pads between the intense breakdowns such as around 0:45...not sure if this was part of your experiment, but its distracting... I think some of the pads could have a bassier EQ to make them warmer(which would fit the track IMO), and some of the lead synths could have louder volumes.

Cool trance clip!

Thanks for the review! Good stuff to know.

Another great spooky halloween loop to add to your

collection of halloween loops. You're a great seasonal composer!

not much to say other than I did on the other loop-this one reminds me more of entering a haunted house while the other reminds me of just trick-or- treating in witch and ghost costumes. Again swell job with the eerie melodies, love the mallet percussion, the fast mallet bits sound like teeth dangling from a skeleton's mouth.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! it's gonna be interesting if you decide to make seasonal loops for Christmas, and Valentines(does this day have music?) and the latter.

LJCoffee responds:

I hadn't planned on seasonal loops or sets but perhaps I could give it a try...

Happy Halloween right back at you!

Halloween Inspiration

You really encompassed the perfect melodies and instruments to produce a perfect halloween environment.

The mallet percussions and bells glide perfectly, and the lower horn and tremolo synths make a creepy(but playful) feel. Sounds like this would be perfect for a halloweeen cartoon on Nickelodeon. Excellent work!

LJCoffee responds:

Hey S3C, thanks man. Cartoon on Nick eh?... I don't think I know anyone onver there...

A Foggy Night....

I enjoy these guitar tones here man. I can see someone traveling by night on a horse. The melody is a bit suspenful, a tad sad, and invokes emotions of a love based quest. The tone is euphoric and has a charming reverb. Great progression. All the instruments gel together nicely. I like the bass synth backing it. the soft beat sounds really sweet, however I think the volume on the percussion could be raised just an ounce tho..Very lovely tho! you must love the girl very much ;)

Twistedtechnology responds:

Funny thing there my suspended friend. This entire song is composed of only ONE sample from the Bexus plugin. there are no precussion samples directly that have been added to this song. Its all ONE HUGE FRIGGEN PIANO ROLL THAT TOOK 5 NONSTOP HOURS OF EYBLEEDING ATTENTION (twitch) of the same guitar sample, cloned into 4 channels ^_^ a 4 in 1 mighty combo if you will. When the notes of this sample are held down, they play a gated/delayed (whichever) note and the lower octaves (c4 and lower) have those staticy snare ish thingys that play along with the bass gate/delay thing.

One of my more creative pieces not only melodicly and musicly speaking...but also pretty creative compositionally as well......if that makes much sense XD

Im glad the reverb came out so nice. Its the basic Cathedral setting, but it seems to have been the perfect thing for this song.

So yea, to turn up the precussion would be to increase the bass....and the roll of bass is shared almost equally by all 4 clones of the sample......so i'd have some piano roll diving to do for that......4 times ><' sorry about that lol.

Im glad you liked the song though!!!!

Thanks for the review my friend!

Overly heavy

This is overall a pretty cool piece but a little bit overdone.

the riffs are pretty tight...They are pretty badass, and the bending adds some "haha I'm gonna kill u with a chainsaw" laugh in your face type of action. Drum beats are fitting. The interlude is pretty badass.

The tone is real heavy-perhaps too heavy. You've got some precise, clear drums but the rhyhthm guitar tones kinda drown everything out. You could use some different EQs to extinguish the other guitar/bass that hits around 0:13, and try using making the chorusing effects a bit lighter. there's also some slightly noticeable fuzzing on the more layered parts of the track.

Vocals are pretty sick and powerful, not outstanding, but better than most.

not a perfect track, but pretty decent stuff!

This song accurately represents my mood

I was listening to this all last night when I was feeling down. I also like the sound quality here-some of the sounds sound a bit dull, but its perfect for a dark track like this.

I love the experimental dealy in the intro...Love the glitchyish beat and mellow sax, and cheapish organ bits. then the sax melodies become kinda uplifting around 1:30, and there's some cheeriness in the next phrase. Sounds so nice in here. And I love the guitar layed down on top. Excelllent groove. I also love the drums and percussion throughout, and their kinda tinnyish sound. it all works amazing in context here. The end is my favorite part, it portrays such a dark and depressing feel.

Vocals are also very nice. You sound a lot like Maynard from Tool, and even more like Jered Mckenna(myspace or soundclick him).

I'm very sad that you're only 65% done and you lost the files...;_; makes me wanna cry. I think what you've used in the end would be a suitable finish(even tho it doesnt sound entirely complete) if you just faded out the vocals and put some FX to make it interesting.

LOVE THIS CLIP MAN!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

haha, listening to this prolly didn't help your mood, sorry to prolongue your blues:/
anyways, thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed it

I definetly am not a "metalhead" but great job on this track. From what I've heard, usually (non-professional) people don't effectively use metalized vocals in a song like this. the growling, screaming is from deep within and sounds insanely evil in this track. So great job on the vocals, I usually don't like this style but this was definetly my favorite part of this track. They are very nice around 1:35 as well. I'm lovin the heavy ass guitar riffs. The guitar riff in the conclusion is perfect.

The acoustic sections adds a really nice creepy touch, the tone sounds almost medieval. I like the drums, they're suitable but sound a tad cheap. Would love to hear an electric guitar solo in here, even a acoustic solo fading out in the end would be perfect. Some gothic sounding choir pads would be a perfect fit in here as well.

excellent stuff! \m/

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

I'm astounded that there are people on NG, that actually review according to product... whether or not they like the type of music. I'm so used to seeing..."not my style..so I give it a 3". Not that I care about the score...its the attitude.

So HUGE thank you!
I agree with every aspect of your review. We are evolving...with every tune we work on and put out. So I hope you stay tuned. Definitely would like to hear your thoughts again.

So thanks for the kick ass review, and hope you listen to MORE metal in the future! \m/ haha.

Quarl? More like COORL

Cool + Quarl = COORL ahem excuse the lame joke...>_>

this a lovely, soft ambient piece. Once again, great job on the beat and drums, very rhyhtmically sound stuff as usual. They have a nice sound too and the whistle you add in every beat or so adds some diversity.

I love the cloud? synths stuff as they just skip through the track so sweetly. And I love when you harmonize the sounds. I love the lead guitarish sounding tones. Very serene melodies.

Great stuff! If I had to give some criticism, I guess you could use different levels of volume through out the track to make it more dynamic...maybe that would ruin the feel...but i'm loving it!

Quarl responds:

You mean some chrechendos and dechrechendos? I used a few in there. Dunno. The program I use doesn't have alot of dynamic control with the mixing process so it's hard to get things to sound right. Thanks for the nice feed back :)

Blah...

this is just not very nice...but not horrible if you're just starting.

the drum buildup is kinda nice in here but would fare to be repetitive after a minute-its a basic not very interesting bit, so I suggest spicing it throughout.

Just as the melodies there is some major clanging in the bass...try to either spread your chords apart more or just dont use chords at all in lower octaves(here it just sounded overly muddy)

on the compositional side, its pretty decent for suspense. The basslines are nice and have a bit of a creepy feel. I like the synths that sound like something falling from a sky.The melody around 1:00 is pretty slick, I definetly would have used this again in the track..and throughout the track, and possibly slowly increased the volume throughout... Another thing you could implement into this track is some freaky high pitched riffs utilizing the same melodical themes used in your track.

Good choice with the samples and synths...but clarity is a huge issue here as mentioned below. the drums sound cheesy as hell, try adding some reverb effects and mess around with equalization. Some minor clipping as well and the quality isnt all that great.

Not a bad piece of music, just needs some work to make it have a more climatic feel and better miastering. Keep it up though!

Cherish the moment. For in a moment, it will be gone.
