Pretty Interesting

sounds like a search in a maze of some sorts...i like the beat in this one. Love the effect used around 1:30 and the more vibrant bell tones used after that. Nice choice of synths for the composition, good stuff.

wyldfyre1 responds:

Thanks again for the review! I was happy with how this turned out. Should check out my last 2 Demo's.

sweet

actually it transitions perfectly. i think its just the .mp3 format that might make it slop up a bit.

sounds a bit like a creepy ambient hip hop loop, nice beat and ominous atmospheric sounds.

Warm and Uplifiting

I've been feeling pretty depressed for the past few days or so but this made me feel a bit better inside. Love the percussion bits employed in here, nice conga stuff mixed with traditional drums. Clear, concise string pads makes me feel like I'm lieing down on the most comfortable bed ever. Some simple progression and melodies in here again, but once again you did a perfect job at it.

I do like the simplicity of the compositional side of this track...but a part of me wants you to leave it as it is, but it just seems like it needs a little more something...such as the long intelude without any percussion, I think you could have incorporated more of a build in there to make it more epic. then again, a soft track like this doesnt need to really be epic, so im kind contradicting myself.

mastering and clarity = perfect. perfect levels of reverb. sounds 100% professional did you go to a school for this?

once again tho, very nice track!

Gillenium responds:

I'm glad you liked it! I've been trying a different music-making technique recently, and it's really been helping me release both good music and timely music. If you'll notice, I haven't submitted much in 2007, and some of the stuff from 2007 hasn't gotten that great of a reaction. I wanted to change all this. My new strategy is to create as many song ideas as possible, build on the best ones, but never layer it too much. Stuff like Strange Petals is layered HEAVILY, but by some miracle it came out great. That doesn't happen very often. I kept this song at its simplest form, and I think it works best that way. When a song is simple, the listener will do one of two things: They will either go "This is underdeveloped, I hate this" or they will focus on the details and get drawn in. I hoped for the latter. Thanks for the review!

did you supaman dat ho?

this song is pretty LOL...

seriously, the bridge has some really nice creative rap lyrics...and I love the violent, crude FUCK YOU bridge parts. pretty funny shit...nice pitching effects as well. around 3:30 is ome EPIC LULZ...great conclusion man

I also love the beat...that string tone sounds so nice...great beat...like the pads too. maybe some scratch effects would be pretty sweet in here when your transitioning between thedifferent phrases in this track.

Love it man!

wyldfyre1 responds:

Glad you see some of the some of the effort WE DID put into this hahah Thanks for sending the love man

The way it should have been

I remember this level...I did not get to experience the aquatic level until the age of six...after losing for one year consecutively drowing on the prior stag...forgot what the level was called.

anyways, sick mix. sounds kinda like a medieval battle theme. Nice opening with the brass sections and timpani drum. great intro. I love the little sci-fi sounding melodies right before the main section, great way to introduce the chorus phrase of the main song. interesting job of slowing down the tempo a bit and mixing up the rhythms to create a more epic feel. Love the saw synths around 2:25..great job at intertwining classical and eletronic styles.

the quality could be a tad better. but no real problem.

Great remix!

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Thanx bro. The level is called Chemical Plant. That was sorta hard when I was about six . . .

Yeah the quality could always be better but its cause of the program I use. Its sorta crappy lol.

Glad you liked

Nice job re-creating the feel, I feel fuzzy inside

you must know the song Charlie Brown themesong really to well to create a completely unique track, but still perfectly compliments the original song.

some really striking chords and beautiful melodies in here. crisp, authentic piano tones bring out the sound very well. Everything connects and bridges together so well. great use of dynamics. how long you've been playin piano for?

another thing I love about the progression is how there are some real cheerful parts, perhaps representing Charlie's good times of his mature life...then there's sections were it invokes dark and minor sounding emotions....like when Charlie learns the consequences of unsafe sex or something....

anyways, this is very nice, I dont know what else to write here. I enjoyed listening to this man.

UriahTWolfe responds:

Thanks for the generous review! I really appreciate your feedback! :-)

tight bro

The quality actually gives it a more old school type of feel. thats a really cool beat, sounds like you've got some beatboxing sounding samples in there...or something phased...thats definetly a cool mellow progression, could be used in a funeral type of rap or something. tho you're repeating the same 10 or seconds through a a minute and ten seconds long beat, you could change it up a bit. add some subs in there. you could also use the little transition you used in the intro to make a little bridge type of breakdown...and I wouldnt fade out the track, since its looping.

great flow tho, perfect chill beat to lay some rap lines over the top of it. you've definetly got a cool tune to work with and build from here. keep up the good work!

Nitro3600 responds:

thanks alot for the tip bro i'll take word on that...

Sweet Trance

I enjoyed listening to this track man. its not a typical sounding trance clip at all; did not sound tedious once

That pad was very beautiful in the intro...sounds like an ocean. and thats definetly an exotic melody, it indeed sounds like something from Greece/Rome, and you made this into a eletronic track, which is very cool. Love the leads and the catchy background beat. thats a real powerful saw in the interlude to emphasize the main themes. sounds pretty nice. During around 2:30 when you're building up, the drum volume levels could be increased.

so man, great composition. Sweet mastering, there were a few samples in here that could use some more mastering(like in the intro, the ride bell around 1:20 would sound sweet with some thick reverb) but thats basically it. You did a good job at playing the main melodies throughout a assortment of synths and different patterns. keep up the good work!

EchozAurora responds:

Thanks for the review man!

I'll try to hit ya back sometime soon.

But yeah, I was kinda aiming for a sorta Ibiza feel.. it is peaceful, and has that sorta dreamy sound.

I might mess with ocean samples and such and retouch this song down the road, there is definitely plenty of room to add to it.

Well, nice

This is pretty simplistic, but it has a futuristic battle type of feel to it. as you probably know, the flaws with this track-the saw synths sound too basic, and obviously, those drums are lame as hell. I know you said this was an old song but I hope you use new samples or usr the EQ now :P But the lead synths are pretty nice, I'm liking those little interlude breakdowns, and decent melodies throughout/

catchy, but too generic. I guess this is pretty good in general, but IMO I don't think it deserves to be on top 5....but who I am to say anything.

g-r4ve responds:

go listen to my new song "explosion"

After hearing the first 15 seconds of this, I

instantly favorited this....SO DIVERSE. so peaceful and mellow. I love it.

Such a nice intro...I invision a dark green forest at night being run by robots with human like feelings. Love the samples and everything....perfect IDM snippets..and around 1:00, such a nice phase....the track completely takes a different pace, but it sounds so nice-like I can reverse in time and change everything that I regret. then it transitions back to the track quite smoothly. these mellow, soft melodies glace the track so nicely. and boy do I love the ending. the white noise you added is like the robots slowing losing the power to end another day of work.

I really cant give you any critiques at all. This song is just perfect in every aspect. some crisp glitchy/IDM sounds, beautiful key-bell sounding like instruments, some damn unique interesting FX. Patched all these riffs together perfect. I haven't heard anything like this. i was planning on doing a late night homework spiel, but I can definetly procrastinate somemore to listen to your music.

A++++ MUSICIAN WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!

Glib responds:

Thank you so much! A lot of people have been telling me that this track is great and its awesome to know that people love it. Thank you for noticing the tiny intricate snippets that I use, it makes me feel better about doing that extra bit of work in a track. There is weeks of work into this so thank you so much for the great review! It's my first officially finished track.

Cherish the moment. For in a moment, it will be gone.
