not too shabby coming off a writers block...

a bit awkard, a tad slow...

some freakish melodies in here....sounds like robots getting eletrocuted in a green pond. the track gets interesting after the panned arpsynths come in to play. nice chirpy synths in here. the melody around 1:50ish is nice, and the themes used int he first track flows well to finish the rest of the song. there was no huge climax in here, but not too bad.

i dont like the drums, its a decent beat, but you need more realistic electronic samples, or EQ them a bit better. to variate your track a bit more you could some FX on the lead synth that echoes, like some reverb or a chorus effect every now and then. also, to fill the void that there is in the track, there needs more bass...that synth in ever bar, that sounds kinda brassyish, could be transcribed an octave or two and used a bassline, it will create more warmth. keep experimenting with music.

and good luck with your writers block...what i like do when I have these type of problems is listen to different styles of music, or learn/analyze other musicians work for inspiration.

SoulofDeath responds:

First off, thanks for the review, and yeah the drums i also think could've been better, bass...thats what i was forgetting...but i have a few projects that haven't been worked on in ages, so im gonna get to those first, then i might end up remixing this song

Ambient DnB? I like it

good job on this one man. phased pads makes for a nice intro, some cool FX on the synth once the bass comes in. the intro builds up at an appropriate speed and flows together very well throughout. so good job until 1:50, nice atmospheric relaxed sounding clips.

no real criticism here on this track-maybe you could have changed the drums on the second part of the track, add some more power to the bassline. by changing the drums you could have made them more realistic, added some reverb and get a more punchy sound...but I like what you got going on here. a louder lead synth would sound pretty swell in here too.

Good stuff!

Stan-SB responds:

i'd completely agree with u on that one but i can do much with it coz im using garage band: a really basic package thats part of i life for a mac n e way ty for the pointers

weird atmospheric feel....

this was a prertty different track, some unique ethnic sounds, but you need to work on gelling everything together.

the guitarish synth has an interesting melody, and the ethnic percussion is pretty sweet. keep the percussion going throughout man, perhaps add a different, slow beat to keep up with the track...the lead synth and piano are nice too, but in some sections of song the flow kinda sounds a bit jumbled....

some flaws in here that can be fixed, but a nice track man.

loogiesquared responds:

thank you...i was thinking of a remix....?

nice sound....

this is probably my favorite song in FFX2....but it sounds like you just imported the midi directly into FL studio(correct me if i'm wrong) and ran the piano parts threw the harpo sytrus preset :/

still it has really cool melodies and a beautiful sound, just work more on making your track more original, like mix the rhythms, add some percussion and add your own flavor to make it a more personal remix.

ReapersArms responds:

Nah I didnt input the midi. I actually figured it out all by ear and made the tune with the Styrus Piano

this one's catchy...

sweet rhythmic groove in here! it sounds kinda like an irish jig...cool of you to add something like that in here, never seen it utilized in techno...interesting melody too...nice soft pads...lovely interlude around 1:25, and good buildup, now too dramastic, it slowly builds up, it sounds nice man :) drums are pretty cool, the snare and ride hit samples work well in this track...the lead melody is pretty cool layed over well. more great sounding pads in the end. definetly kept me interested throughout, and I dont like this genre of music all that much.

great job composition wise, but there is some minor clarity issues in here. when the bass does the 16ths riff in the intro, there is some fuzzing. around 1:25 there some minor clipping as well, some slight compression or lower velocity could smoothen this out. Also the lead synth is a bit screechy when it hits the highest note...

nice trance production! :P

Sweetness man.

love the synths in the intro...too bad it was only 10 seconds tho, with cool sounds like that you should have made it longer :)

interesting trance groove, love the higher end percussion...around 1:00 that fast arpsynth is sweet! it really adds some originality and diversity to your piece...the ambient section around 1:30 is nice and atmospheric.

overall, slick track you got going here...some sections of the song and the nice arpsynth add some depth to your track, otherwise tho, the verse sections could use some more originality to retain some interest...still catchy riffs, but I would try to spice up the rhythms next time around....if you like :)

Arcsynth responds:

Hey, thanks! I discovered that I need to write more ambience. =P

hey thanks for the gift

this is a groovy audio clip right here. love the keys and the saws smoothing its way into the track, and how they swirl throughout my speakers...sweet phase/flange effect going here. some real nice melodies too. I love the acidy sequenced thats around 1;20...sounds real professional, and I love the reverb pads that you keep with it.

the ending to this track is perfect, some real nice drum sounds going around around 3:00, and pretty sweet gloomy piano melody.

the productionn and sound is pretty much perfect, great selection of synths, pads, and FX. i just think you could transition your melodies a bit better. the third phase around 1:15, it sounded like you were stopping the track and entering into a new song, so I guess there could be some smoother progression in here. and at 2:37, sounds like you could have used another chord before this one, or we using a key change? but it kinda sounds cool!

great dance/techno track! I like it :)

Davirus responds:

Yup!
Im planning to make the song more versatile in keys\notes meaning.

Thanks for de suport and the great commenting! xD
Really helpful!

If I do the extended version I will let you know as soon as I have it =3

Epic Win.

damn this one damn badass metal song! it sounds like some holy type of battle is going on, you've got some real killer metal riffs in here. it really has everything I like in a song. some nice lead riffs, fast heavy metal rhythms, badass drums(love the cymbal work!), which flow perfectly with the song....I also love where you include the short quiet bits in here, the first one around 2:00, and the one around 2:30 with the crying lady is a pretty sweet instrumental, love the harps and keys, some really saddening melodies. then you open it back with a lovely riff, and those organ pads are just truly amazing. great for a long battle scene....man, again love those pads, thats what makes metal tracks like this so diverse and a pleasure to listen to. i love the choirs around 6:20ish, and you go right back into metal madness. well, i dont wanna drag on repeating myself any longer, but let me just say, great ending, and i dont know if you intended to do this, but it ties along right with the intro and the lady crying right along 2:30....the beast is scaring the citizens of the town in the intro, one of the children gets killed during 2:30, and in the end the beast wins?

great quality production here. i think the harp and lead guitar could be a bit louder too. I would also love to see a guitar solo bit somewhere in here, that would have been nice.

but man once again, amazing track, you've got some great technical skill and talent composing. i will defintely favorite this because i'll listen to it again.

Lashmush responds:

You just leveled up my happiness. Thanks! ;D

Pretty creative track man!

once again, great job on the intro, it sounds like a concert in outer space.

I love the amount of reverb you use in here, that must be a huge ass room size. good drums in here too mate. I love when the drums volume swell in the end of the track. the piano melody is pretty nice too, loads of reverb make it sound good. the sound is a little to brittle for my tastes, perhaps less EQed mids? pretty sweet background synths going on here too bro.

this track however, I would say got a bit tedious. there wasnt enough varied riffs in here, perhaps a nice bass synth would be cool in here, and some smooth pads layered near the end...but once again, another overall cool sounding bit!

Vast Horizons and grey skies

nice floating pads and atmospheric bell riffs in the intro, and it flows well through the track with the string synths. the lead melody is pretty diverse and takes a pretty interesting progression through the track. the saw pads sounded real nice, creating a nice fluff around the euphoric melodies. some really nice FX and cool sounds on all the synths in this track. you kinda sound like Gillenium in terms of producing quality ambient tracks, which is great thing(i'm sure you've checked out his stuff).

so yeah great track man, I guess the same riffs looped throughout the track could consider it overly-repetitive but I personally wouldnt worry about that, considering you have some interesting harmonies that keeps my attention for the whole 3 and half minutes...also, your drums need more punch-but you already know that. did you just not feel like EQing and using better samples here? cuz ive seen you produce better drums in other tracks :P

once again, great job, its always refreshing listening to a new ambient track by you. and btw, IMO your best song is Rain Outside :P

Cherish the moment. For in a moment, it will be gone.
