mmm nice catchy song

nice melody theme, the progression sounds a bit familiar. the drums are pretty cool, nice hi hat work. when you play the guitar-sounding synth, it has a catchy rhythm to it. cool solo laced in near the end of the track, it kinda blends in with the rest of the work, you could have brought out the sound more by panning it a little to the left or right. nice track quarl :)

Quarl responds:

har! Thanks for the reivew. I love it when people take the time out of their lives to write up something. It feels so nice. I'll make sure to return the favor!

I'm glad you liked the song. I used a really generic progression so I'm not suprised if it was easy to follow. The entire song is synthetic so...yeahhhhh...and the solo is improvised. I've secretly been working on that melody for two years though. It was the first thing I ever wrote on the guitar, so I just had to transepose it...ARrrrAeraqr.

this song has a particular catchy element to it

It sounds kinda cheap, but there was something about this song that made me listen to it 10 times consecutively while I was doing something elsewhere. I could probably listen to this loop all day without getting annoyed.

the melodies and song sounded a bit tedious and uninspired, but it had an overall nice reflection to it. the beats were kinda repetitive, but in a good way...perhaps you could have added a little bit of reverb to the brass to make them sound a bit more authentic. nice speaking in the end, I laughed. you got a really moody sax tone on one of your other songs(it was either linearcargo or gwai, or maybe both) that I liked.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

cheers broski,
aye, it cheap, like i said i just chucked down a beat and a bass line so i could play some saxamaphone. listen out for some more well constructed stuff with sax overkill
;ped

indeed many different styles

nice flute intro..I like the flow of the melody, it was a mixture of serious then sadness. rhe snare runs and orchestra makes it sound militaryish.

the rest of the song is pretty nice, it sounds like an old school rap beat. I love the drum samples. the beat had me dancin man. the panned lead synth is really catchy.

cool work here. tho the intro and second half of the song don't really mix well. seperately, they could have been very interesting songs. keep up the good work!

Whirlguy responds:

cool thanks for the review(:

Master of the sytrus

seems like you no how to use the sytrus very effectively. :) this would work great for a CSI type of show. the melodies were suspenseful and serious. nice use of the keys.

the scratches were a tad soft and awkward at times. it sounded rather nice in the end. perhaps a brighter EQ could fix the rather muffled sound of the scratching. I liked how the song builded towards the end, although the song stopped just a little to abruptly. good work man!

5'd to average out the 2.50

Syntrus responds:

2.50 Yah i know that songs a 3 or higher.

sweeeet man

this was a really different type of hip hop loop. I rather liked the change. the synths all blended in well making a cool electro sounding loop. The one that sounds like a mix between a harp, piano, and bell that comes halfway in through the mix sounds damn tight and has a nice sad melody to it. taking a stab at changing the drums a bit through the loop would help, although the simple beat complements the song nicely. I love the atmospheric vibes I get from the background FX.

overall very cool song!

Syntrus responds:

thx man

Nice start off clip..

the synths and drums sound nice in the beginning..its a pretty sweet loop. I don't know if you were planning on including the slowed down part in there.

should you continue? definetly! very sweet intro, you could add more to this and you'll have a complete sweet audio track at your disposal.

On-yX responds:

Thanks :) Yes I did intend a slow part at the end. I just wanted to add a little touch for the demo xD

another badass loop by greeksta

great stuff here man...sad melodies, nice piano riff, and soothing strings.

great job on the beat-the bass drum and gunshots did cause minimal clipping on my speaker, but no big deal really. the piano wasn't audible enough, just turn the volume up a tad and maybe add a bit of reverb(while the other instruments are playing).

good job again man!

Greeksta-69 responds:

thanks for the reviews man i enjoy these type of reviews more than others they really help me out in the future thanks alot man.

original rap loop here!

this one is sweet and sexy. the sitar and flute is sweeet, it really adds to the song. perhaps add a little reverb to the sitar to add some more sustain. I'm diggint the strings riff. Nice EQed bass and hip hop beat. great work overall!

do you mind telling me where you got the flute from? I've been looking for a soundfont or something of one for ages, and have had no luck. so if you could PM me or post it here that would be great thanks! good luck on the rest of your work.

Greeksta-69 responds:

Hey man im glad you liked the song. The flute... well i got it from a friend then we just made the melody and added pitch bend, most GM soundsfonts have the flute so search that up and just do it with some pitch bend and stuff and it will sound pro ! anyways thanks for the review man.

sad, touching techno loop

this would be perfect for an intro piece...

the lead saw synth was too loud, so you couldn't hear the background synth as well. nice phase effect going on here.

I dig this song, its nice and gloomy.

TMM43 responds:

Thanks for the review.
I'll keep your suggestions in mind while remaking this.

nice classical clip

the melodies were nice and slick; they could have been a changed up through the song a bit. nice piano and synths. the piano riff played in sixteenths sounded really good. The synths were a bit blurry and could have been EQed a bit better.

the drum mixes are tight. I dig how you added them to a classical style of music. You could have experimented with a different bass kick sample, or perhaps EQed it with more bass, I couldn't hear it much in some sections of the track.

great work! reminds of me of the batman returns video game OST...

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for reviewing.
Sounds too technical for me...
I think I just used whatever 3/4 drum samples I could get hold of, I might have even had to make one of the drum loops from scratch, I can't remember, it was months ago XD. I think there was only one kick I really used, the stock standard FPC sample.
Glad you like it. (Makes me feel good inside =P)

Cherish the moment. For in a moment, it will be gone.
